In terms of administrative divisions, according to the Salnameh Mutasarrifiyya of Mount Lebanon 1306 AH – 1888 AD, the number of villages in the Jezzine district is 99, and in the Jezzine district 42, while according to the Salnameh the Mutasarrifate of Mount Lebanon 1307 AH – 1889 AD, the number of villages in the district of Jezzine is 107, and in the Jezzine district 61, and the number of municipalities in Jezzine district is 1. According to Vital Kenya, the number of villages in the same district is 107. This is what gives the Jezzine district a qualitative administrative and organizational importance at the level of the Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate.
The Mutasarrifa of Mount Lebanon was formed from the following cazas: Chouf, Batroun, Matn, Jezzine, Kesrouan, Zahle, Koura, and Kasbah Deir al-Qamar. While Jezzine district was formed from the following areas: Jezzine, Tofah District, Jebel Rihan.
